Next Saturday the 22nd of April “Es Mercadet” returns to Son Fuster after three years suspended due to COVID health restrictions. This initiative, promoted by Palma Town Hall, aims to encourage the local exchange, second-hand and antiques market. The aim is to encourage responsible consumption, reuse and recycling.

“Es Mercadet” will be held every non-festive Saturday from 8 am to 1:30 pm in the Son Fuster parking area, located next to the sports facilities, between the PM-27 and the camí Vell de Bunyola.
Visitors will find three types of stalls: professional, general and temporary. The former will be available all year round, either to sell new items from stock clearance, second-hand or collectors’ items. In total, there will be 12 professional stalls, plus 2 food tracks offering food and drink.

The general stalls, for which 135 “paradetes” have been earmarked, will offer second-hand, antique and clearance sale items on an occasional basis. Their activity will be limited to six months, with a periodicity of three market Saturdays and one rest Saturday.

Occasional sales outlets may sell their products on one or more Saturdays (maximum 8) in succession or alternately, within a six-month period. For this purpose, the City Council will grant a personal and non-transferable authorisation, with a pre-fixed number. So far, 32 applications have been submitted.
