The charm of the Mallorcan ensaimada is once again taking centre stage on the island, this time at the Ensaimada Fair of Santanyí 2024. The municipality is organising an entire day dedicated to this exquisite product. S’Abeurador square, in the centre of the town, will be the epicentre of the Fira de la Ensaimada. An event that promises fun and activities for the whole family.
Santanyí Ensaimada Fair programme
From 10:00 until 22:00, bakeries from different towns, including Santanyí, will be exhibiting their creations. There will be live demonstrations of ensaimada making and tastings of giant ensaimadas prepared especially for the occasion. In addition, there will be entertainment and musical performances, including the presence of a charanga (brass band) that will be playing in the streets of the centre.
From 15:30 onwards, it will be time for traditional dance and typical music, with the participation of various local groups. Initially, Ordi Broix and his dance school will showcase their talent. Afterwards, there will be a popular dance session with Sonadors Sonats and Xicalènia, until the body can take it!
Antoni Matas, Santanyí Town Councillor for Fairs and Markets, invites everyone to take part in what promises to be a very special day: “This Santanyí Ensaimada Fair and Exhibition is a great opportunity to enjoy our town, our traditions and a product like no other. We are convinced that those who attend will have an unforgettable time”.
