Mallorcan cyclist Enric Mas, who finished second in the last edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, will captain Movistar Team’s chances in its 44th consecutive appearance in this competition. The Vuelta will start this Saturday, 26 August, from Barcelona and Movistar Team goes, as every year, with the responsibility of being the protagonist. In this sense, the team has defined the eight names with which it will take the start in the opening team time trial in Barcelona.

Enric Mas, 28, returns to competition after his injury in the Tour and will be the spearhead of a block with the presence of the Spanish champion, Oier Lazkano. Completing the group are Colombian Einer Rubio, Portuguese riders Nelson Oliveira and Ruben Guerreiro and Spaniards Iván García Cortina, Jorge Arcas and Carlos Verona.

The ten summit finishes -some as recognisable as Tourmalet (Friday 8) or L’Angliru (Wednesday 13)- and the 26km CRI, on the tenth day (Tuesday 5), in Valladolid, will mark La Vuelta in the 44th consecutive participation of Abarca Sports, 13th under the main sponsorship of Telefónica.
