The Balearic Government has decided that it will be inflexible with nightlife establishments that fail to comply with health protection measures, announced that it will close the sector if these behaviors continue and announced a special control plan by the end of the year.

The Executive made this decision after the videos that circulated on social networks where breaches of current regulations (distance and use of a mask indoors, among others) were observed in several nightclubs in Mallorca, such as the BCM nightclub, which will be sanctioned.

The director of the Balearic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (IBASSAL) has met with the president of the Balearic Association of Nightlife and Entertainment (Abono), Miguel Pérez Marsá, with the presence of the director of the BCM nightclub, Jaime Lladó, to demand strict compliance with the standards approved to contain the pandemic caused by COVID-19.

In this sense, the Government has regretted these attitudes and has reported that, based on the images analyzed, a file has been opened to initiate the corresponding sanctioning procedure.
