From the 13th of April to the 31st of May, the Teatre Municipal Mar i Terra will host the Concerts 100% cycle, an initiative by Palma City Hall that aims to promote artists and musical groups from the Balearic Islands. This year’s programme will feature performances by the group Toc de crida (13th April), the cellist Laia Ferrer (24th May), the Trotsky Experience Jazz Band (25th May 2024) and the band Amulet (31st May 2024).
All the concerts in the series will be held at 8 pm at the Teatre Municipal Mar i Terra, located at Carrer de Sant Magí, 89-91, in Palma. Prices range between €8 and €10, and electronic ticket sales have been set up (up to two hours before the start of the show) at this link. Tickets can also be purchased at the box office up to one hour before the start of the concerts.

The musical fusion of Toc de crida
Toc de crida is made up of Pau Mas, on piccolo, tamborí, flutes and drums; Sara Mingolla, on accordion and percussion; Benjamín Salom, on violin and guitarrón; Miquel Amengual, on drums and percussion; Pablo Alegría, on electric and acoustic guitar, and Joan Vàzquez, on electric bass. The Mallorcan group defines its sound as “fresh, joyful, without additives and with a lot of strength and rhythm”, the result of mixing the musical tradition of Mallorca with samples from other sister cultures, such as Catalan, Valencian, Italian and African.

Laia Ferrer presents Nemen Numen
Laia Ferrer is a young Mallorcan cellist, composer and singer who has been an academician with the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España. Since 2017 she has been a member of the instrumentalists’ pool of the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española and has premiered several compositions at the Conservatorio Superior de Madrid. In Concerts 100%, Ferrer presents Nemen Numen, a conceptual show that fuses acoustic and electronic music, exploring the theme of the muses with a transversal approach that encompasses various artistic disciplines and musical genres, from classical to popular.

Trotsky Experience Jazz Band goes blues rock
The Trotsky Experience Jazz Band, led by drummer Jaume Crespí “Trotsky”, also includes Richard Vinton on piano, Alain Sánchez on double bass and Miky Ramon on sax. The veteran band has a long musical career, and was even a finalist in the 2010 and 2011 editions of the Palma Jazz Comercial. On the stage of the Teatre Municipal Mar i Terra, where they presented their first record ‘One’ in 2019, you can listen to their second work entitled ‘Nine’, which moves away from jazz and delves into blues rock.

The latest from Antoni Mulet
Amulet combines the influence of Anglo-Saxon folk-pop and the musical references of Mallorca with urban and electronic touches. This is a project by the Santamarí singer-songwriter Antoni Mulet, who gives his name to the group, winner of the Palma Pop-Rock Contest and winner of the award for best singer-songwriter album in two editions of the Enderrock Balearic Music Awards (public 2021 and critics 2023). In addition to Antoni Mulet, who provides vocals and plays the guitar, the group is made up of Miquel Bennàssar, on bass and double bass; Pere Joan Company, on banjo and lapsteel, and Sílvia Rechac, on keyboard and piano.
