The Balearic Islands are already in Phase 2 of the de-escalation process starting this Monday and one of the main news is the opening of beaches. An activity that many citizens of Mallorca looked forward to but that has been slightly clouded by the clouds. On the closest beach to Palma centre, Can Pere Antoni, the morning was quiet and there were no crowds. Dozens of Majorcans have come to take their first baths and lie relaxed on the sand.

It was not a crowd bath, but rather a progressive start of Phase 2. And it is that although the temperatures seem typical of summer, the sky was practically covered with clouds. The residents of Palma have come to the urban beach complying with the social distance security measures and demonstrating responsibility in this new phase of the de-escalation. Also with the presence of the lifeguards, watching the space from their towers and with their masks on.

Today they could open the museums, although many of them remain closed until further notice and refer to their websites to find out when they can be visited. Shopping centers were also located at the starting point of their de-escalation. And many neighbors have not been able to resist, so there have been some queues.

The terraces continue to be the protagonists of this de-escalation, leaving images of full tables waiting to fully recover normality.
