Surveillance for new outbreak of COVID-19 from China

The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, appeared before a brief press conference this morning to explain the new health measures in response to the explosion of cases of COVID-19 from China. “We are going to adopt, together with the EU, measures for the entry of passengers from China”, the Minister declared at the press conference.

Therefore, Health is preparing new measures for travellers from China and recommendations for Spaniards flying to China. Passengers arriving from China will be required to present a full vaccination certificate and a negative test for COVID-19.

Spanish travellers travelling to or from China will also be advised to have a full vaccination schedule and to maintain precautionary measures, such as social distance and masks.

The Minister recalled that in the coming weeks, together with the EU countries, they will follow a roadmap as a monitoring and surveillance strategy in the event of new cases from China.
