Silence

Dressed in a formal suit that he does not quite feel comfortable in, the playwright is about to enter the Academy with a speech entitled Silencio (Silence).

His listeners are the other academicians, with whom he shares the podium, and the people – family, friends, colleagues, authorities, strangers… – who have come to accompany him this afternoon. He has chosen to talk about silence in life and in theatre. He has also chosen to travel through theatrical silences that resonate in his memory and in his body.

Like the spectators, these silences can confront him with the silences of his own life. You may be tempted, at every moment, to be silent. Perhaps the silence, which supports the discourse and on which the discourse inquires, puts the discourse in danger. Perhaps the most important thing is, for the speaker and for those who receive the speech, above and below the words, to listen together to the silence.

Principal Menut

The Teatre Principal offers a free toy library service on Sundays. With this service, mothers and fathers will be able to enjoy the performance, leaving the little ones in the hands of specialised staff. You can reserve a seat for the Principal Menut during the purchase process, both on the website and at the box office.
