The bank holidays in Mallorca in 2023 have already been published in the BOIB despite the fact that we are still waiting for this year’s working calendar. A total of 12 public holidays and 2 more chosen by each municipality. Although the days were announced in April, it is on 18 August, when the BOIB publishes the working calendar for 2023 in Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. It does so after the plenary sessions of the town councils have communicated their two relevant local holidays.

In the case of Palma, the municipality has chosen its two public holidays for 2023 as 20 January, Sant Sebastià, and 26 December, Sant Esteve or the second Christmas holiday.
Each municipality must designate two public holidays to be added to the 2023 working calendar in the Balearic Islands. Although 26 December is one of the most popular public holidays in Mallorca in 2023, not all towns opt for this date. For example, in Alcúdia and Algaida they celebrate Sant Jaume on 25 July; in Capdepera it is a public holiday on 17 January, San Antonio, etc.
