The president of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol, considered that the mandatory use of the mask outdoors should be temporary and asked that the head of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, clearly define in which contexts it will be necessary to apply it and in which not.

At the same time, during the Conference of Presidents, Armengol highlighted the need to reach communities with resources through the COVID Fund for pandemic management.

On the other hand, the Balearic government asked the citizens of the islands to act prudently during the Christmas holidays and comply with the protection measures to avoid the expansion of COVID-19 in the face of the increase in cases that occurred in The last weeks.

In a press conference after the Conference of Presidents this Wednesday, the spokesman for the Executive, Iago Negueruela, has valued that during the meeting with the different regional presidents, the need to continue advancing in the vaccination of the population has been defended: both in the complete vaccination of those who have not yet been vaccinated as in the childhood vaccination and in booster doses.

Finally, the Conference of Presidents has agreed to establish a validity period for the COVID digital certificate. Thus, as of February 1, the validity period of the vaccination will be nine months from the date of administration of the last dose. The objective is that, once six months have elapsed since the complete schedule, citizens will have three months to receive the booster dose.
