RCD Mallorca recorded an emphatic victory over Paris Saint-Germain to win the 48th Trofeu Ciutat de Palma – 150 Aniversari Estrella Damm. Luis García’s team defeated the Parisian side 3-0 in a match marked by their intensity, attacking efficiency and defensive solidity.
Zito Luvumbo opened the scoring in the first half, Jan Virgili doubled Mallorca’s advantage before the break and Antonio Raíllo sealed the victory shortly after the start of the second half.
A fearless Mallorca from the opening whistle
Luis García’s starting line-up featured Arnau Tenas in goal; Miguel Calatayud, Martin Valjent, Antonio Raíllo and Toni Lato in defence; Sergi Darder, Manu Morlanes and Pablo Torre in midfield; and Jan Virgili, Zito Luvumbo and Adrián Fuentes in attack.
Mallorca attempted to impose their tempo from the opening minutes, although PSG registered the first shot on target. The home side responded in the eighth minute with a combination between Calatayud and Luvumbo that ended in the hands of Matvey Safonov.
Three minutes later, Luvumbo threatened again with a cross from the right wing, but Pablo Torre was unable to finish accurately.
The French side had one of their best opportunities in the 20th minute. Ibrahim Mbaye beat Toni Lato and struck the crossbar, but Mallorca responded immediately.
Luvumbo and Virgili put Mallorca in control
In the 21st minute, Jan Virgili found Zito Luvumbo, who controlled the ball before finishing with a low shot inside the post to give Mallorca the lead.
PSG attempted to respond through Senny Mayulu, but Arnau Tenas prevented the equaliser. Mallorca maintained their ambition and continued to threaten the Parisian goal.
Their reward arrived in the 40th minute. Sergi Darder picked out Jan Virgili, who produced a composed finish past Safonov to make it 2-0.
Before half-time, Adrián Fuentes had another clear opportunity against the PSG goalkeeper but was unable to convert it.
Raíllo seals the Trofeu Ciutat de Palma
Luis García made several changes at half-time, introducing Soumahoro, Antonio Sánchez, Álex Sala and Antoniu Roca.
Mallorca did not take long to extend their advantage. In the 51st minute, Antonio Raíllo scored the third goal of the match, effectively putting the Trofeu Ciutat de Palma beyond PSG’s reach.
Pichu Cuéllar, Mateu Jaume, Abdón Prats, Marc Domenech, Luis Orejuela, David López and Jandro García also featured during the second half.
The Mallorcan side managed their advantage comfortably until the final whistle and kept a clean sheet against one of European football’s leading clubs.

With this victory, RCD Mallorca were crowned champions of the 48th Trofeu Ciutat de Palma – 150 Aniversari Estrella Damm.
