The exhibition at La Misericòrdia, Buits: espais per a la mirada (Voids: spaces for contemplation), brings together 25 steel sculptures by Mallorcan artist Vicenç Mulet. The exhibition can be visited until 22 September in the Aljub exhibition rooms at the Centre Cultural La Misericòrdia.

Curated by Bàrbara Galmés Pascual, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the relationship between form, space and matter. The display presents the void as an active element of the artwork and makes the viewer part of the artistic experience.
The exhibition at La Misericòrdia explores the dialogue between steel and emptiness
The 25 sculptures explore geometry as an expressive language. Volumes, openings and empty spaces create plays of light and shadow that transform the perception of each piece.
Steel, treated with different finishes —oxidised, raw or polished— becomes the main means of expression. Although it retains its industrial appearance, it acquires a sense of lightness and movement through the treatment of light and interior spaces.
According to the exhibition project, each plane, cut and volume is the result of a creative process that combines intuition, technical precision and a deep understanding of the material.
Vicenç Mulet turns an artistic vocation into a new creative chapter
Born in Palma in 1955, Vicenç Mulet Traserra pursued his professional career as an ear, nose and throat specialist. Since retiring, he has been able to devote himself fully to sculpture, a discipline he had practised alongside his medical career for many years.
During the presentation of the exhibition, the Vice-President of the Consell de Mallorca and Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, said that “La Misericòrdia is now a key venue for contemporary creation”. She also highlighted that Mulet’s sculptures “invite us to look closely and discover how form and emptiness interact”.
