The municipal company Emaya continues to make progress in the fourth phase of the ‘Palma a Punt’ cleaning reinforcement plan, which since 1 October has made it possible to remove 57.36 tonnes of waste across three large areas of the city. This phase, which runs until 31 December, includes actions in 84 neighbourhoods of Palma through comprehensive and planned interventions.

A team of 47 workers, distributed across morning and afternoon shifts, has been working in numerous neighbourhoods such as Cala Major, El Terreno, Son Rapinya, Rafal Vell, Es Vivero, Son Cladera, Son Oliva, Amanecer and Bons Aires, among many others.
Neighbourhoods included in the intervention sectors
Sector 9/10
Cala Major, Sant Agustí, Gènova, Porto Pí, La Bonanova, El Terreno, Los Almendros – Son Pacs, Son Xigala, Son Peretó, Son Flor, Son Serra – La Vileta, Son Rapinya, Son Roca, Son Ximelis, Son Anglada and Son Vida.
In this area of 30 km², which contains 22,940 homes and 47,294 residents, Emaya has achieved:

In its 5.7 km² and with 39,714 inhabitants, the interventions have included:

In this 3.9 km² area, where 71,398 residents live, the following actions have been carried out:

A reinforcement phase with greater investment and more staff

The fourth phase of ‘Palma a Punt’ has a budget of €793,600, 21.5% more than the previous phase. The plan includes actions on 7,653 litter bins, 7,155 containers and more than 1.1 million linear metres of pavement, in addition to stepped-up efforts to remove graffiti, collect abandoned waste and control weeds.
The reinforcement includes 47 workers, four more than in the previous stage, along with a fleet of vehicles for weed clearing, street washing, maintenance of litter bins and containers, and the collection of waste left outside designated points.
With this work, Emaya continues to make progress towards its goal of visibly and comprehensively improving cleanliness in all Palma neighbourhoods.
