The municipal company Emaya, in collaboration with the Bishopric of Mallorca, has removed 800 kilograms of waste from the Na Burguesa grounds in Palma. The extraordinary intervention restored this natural area to its usual state.

A team consisting of two workers and a specialised truck was responsible for collecting the waste. Plastic and cardboard containers, papers, cans and glass bottles were removed. Thanks to this action, the area was left clean and free of accumulated rubbish.
A call for civic responsibility
The Ajuntament de Palma and Emaya have issued a call for civic-mindedness and collective responsibility. They remind everyone that keeping natural spaces clean is a task for all.
This intervention reflects the commitment of local institutions to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable habits among citizens.
Na Burguesa: a green lung for Palma
Na Burguesa is one of Palma’s most emblematic natural areas, located in the Sierra de Na Burguesa, in the hills rising to the southwest of the city. This area is popular with hikers, cyclists and nature lovers, who enjoy its walking trails, stunning viewpoints and rich biodiversity.
Among the highlights are the Mirador de n’Alzamora, which offers panoramic views of Palma and Palma Bay, and the statue of Christ, located on Puig de Na Burguesa. Additionally, the area hosts several caves, such as the Coves de Génova, attracting both cavers and tourists seeking adventure.
