The Office for the Energy Transition of the Balearic Islands (OTEIB) recorded a significant increase in enquiries during the month of July. The six permanent offices across the archipelago received a total of 805 visits. Most of the enquiries focused on renewable energy production and electric mobility. These requests have grown by 33.3% and 63.64% respectively since the beginning of the year.

Procedures related to energy grants and subsidies also increased. A total of 197 requests regarding the status of applications have been received, representing a 74% increase compared to the start of the year. In addition, 60 enquiries concerned information about calls for applications, and 153 were about the processing of these subsidies.

Awareness-raising activities

The report from the Balearic Institute of Energy highlights the implementation of awareness-raising activities, such as workshops on energy bills and shared photovoltaic self-consumption. Hernando Rayo, director of the IBE, explained that these initiatives bring services closer to citizens and show them how to drive the energy transition and fight climate change.

The OTEIB provides advice to individuals, companies and local administrations. It offers support for energy projects and promotes the decarbonisation of the Balearic economy. This increase in enquiries reflects the growing interest of the population in adopting sustainable solutions and actively participating in the energy transition.
