On April 6, Palma will host the Magic Line 2025, the solidarity walk organized by Sant Joan de Déu, now in its ninth edition. The event will also take place in cities like Gran Canaria, Barcelona, Lleida, Madrid, and Valencia. Over the years, the initiative has raised nearly €3.5 million, with 100% of the funds supporting social and healthcare projects for vulnerable people.
Three accessible routes in Magic Line 2025
This year’s edition will feature three accessible routes designed for all ages and abilities:
- The main route, covering 10 kilometers, will start at 10:00 AM from the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Palma, passing through landmarks like the Passeig de Cala Gamba, El Molinar, Portitxol, Avenidas, Plaza España, Olmos, Ramblas, and Borne, finishing at the Parc de la Mar, where a grand closing celebration with music, food trucks, and entertainment will take place.
- For those preferring a shorter walk, there will be a 3-kilometer coastal route from Portitxol Beach to Parc de la Mar.
- Additionally, an adapted maritime or sailing option will be available, offering 3 or 10-kilometer routes starting and ending at the Club Náutico Cala Gamba.

The mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez Llabrés, emphasized during the event’s presentation “the importance of initiatives like Magic Line 2025, which mobilize citizens for solidarity causes and channel generosity toward those most in need.” He also highlighted that “the success of this walk lies in the involvement of thousands of anonymous participants and the outstanding work of the Order of Sant Joan de Déu.”
Teams of 2 to 20 people
The Magic Line is a non-competitive walk where participants form teams of 2 to 20 people and set a solidarity fundraising goal. In the last edition held in Palma, 1,500 participants across 100 teams raised nearly €30,000 for social programs at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospitals in Palma and Inca, as well as the Sant Joan de Déu Social Services Foundation in Mallorca.
Registrations for this year’s edition are now open, inviting all Palma residents to join this festive and charitable event. “I am convinced that the walk will once again be a success, bringing together hundreds of people who share Sant Joan de Déu’s social and humanitarian vision,” concluded Martínez Llabrés.
