The Balearic delegation, headed by the President of the Government Margalida Prohens, is already at the World Travel Market in London. From today Monday until Wednesday, the Balearic Islands will participate to encourage demand in low season as well as to publicize and position its cultural and sports offer
The president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, along with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzá, will attend the World Travel Market 2022 fair in London on November 6 and 7. The Conselleria de Turismo, Cultura y Deportes, through the Agencia de Estrategia Turística (Aetib) is coordinating the Balearic participation in the World Travel Market 2023.
Thus, Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera will be represented in a stand of 442 square meters.
This is the same stand that premiered in the last edition of Fitur 2023 and that earned the recognition of the organization to the best sustainable stand. The design is inspired by the oceanic posidonia characteristic of the Mediterranean.
In this way, a firm commitment is made to sustainability in its materials as well as in the construction process. The exhibition space seeks to be a functional and useful space for the trade fair activity that will take place during those days.
The Balearic Islands stand will have its own stand with the councils of Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera, as well as different town councils of Mallorca and four private co-exhibitors -Sidetours Incoming, Affilired, Iberosports and IberPalma Travel-.
Presentations at the stand
With the aim of enabling the sector to hold business meetings at the fair in an organized manner, the Aetib has set up a table reservation system at the stand. This system has been previously communicated to the tourism companies so that they can use it to schedule their appointments.
In addition, different presentations will take place during the fair. Specifically, on Monday at 11.00 am there will be a presentation to the British media by the President of the Government, Margalida Prohens, and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà. It will announce the new tourism strategies for 2024 and the commitment of the Balearic Islands as a cultural and sports destination.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from each of the island councils to present the new tourism developments on the four islands.
During the days of the fair, the Balearic delegation to London will also take the opportunity to hold various working meetings with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), as well as with the main tour operators and airlines in the British market.
