El auge de los influencers sintéticos generados por inteligencia artificial podría tener una resonancia especial en la isla
The landscape of synthetic influencers generated by artificial intelligence (AI) is taking a significant place in the digital sphere in Spain, where their impact on marketing and advertising stands out. This trend, which has intensified in recent years, reflects how AI is redefining the boundaries between the virtual and the real, presenting unique opportunities and challenges for brands and consumers.
But the underlying question is: if Mallorca is the destination of choice for influencers, will it also be the destination of choice for AI-generated influencers?
One of the most notable examples is Miquela Sousa, a streetwear and luxury fashion influencer with more than three million followers on Instagram. Since her emergence in 2016, as the first influencer created with digital animation, she has generated significant revenue through sponsored posts, reaching over €880,000 by 2022. Not surprisingly, her Instagram account has more than 2.7 million followers, and she has even starred in advertising campaigns for BMW, among others.
It is easy to imagine her ‘strolling’ through the centre of Palma, along La Lonja and Jaime III wearing her trendy outfits.
Influencer Aitana López, created by The Clueless, an AI modelling agency based in Barcelona, is another prime example. With more than 122,000 followers on Instagram and a focus on gaming, fitness and cosplay, Aitana represents the advanced development of generative AI, which allows for the creation of photorealistic images and convincing digital personalities. Although the best thing about her Instagram account is seeing the comments from some users, who have yet to realise that what they are seeing is the result of a lot of processors and endless computing power.
The truth is that we can also imagine her showing off her beautiful body on Mallorca’s most iconic beaches. Es Caló des Moro, Sa Calobra, Es Trenc or es Caló des Màrmols are just some of the emblematic pieces of paradise where we could see -figurally- Aitana, showing off the beauties of our natural landscapes.
Since the current trend is the promotion of brands through influencers created with artificial intelligence, we said to ourselves: what if we created our own?
