Masters of Cinema Award to Liv Ullmann
On Tuesday the 25th of July, the Misericòrdia will host a special gala at which the Masters of Cinema Award will be presented to a living legend of cinema, the actress Liv Ullmann. She was Ingmar Bergman’s muse, with whom she made 9 films, including ‘Persona’, ‘Secrets of a Marriage’ and ‘Face to Face’, which earned her her second Oscar nomination. In addition to receiving the award, Ullmann will present the documentary ‘Liv Ullmann: the road less travelled’, directed by Dheerai Akolkar.
The Norwegian actress will not be the only special award this year. On 29 and 30 July, the Masters of Cinema will be awarded to the César-winning French actress Irène Jacob for ‘Three Colours: Red’.
AMFF will close its on-site edition on 30 July with the Jury, Critics’ and Audience Awards Gala. The awards will be followed by the screening of ‘Creatura’, winner of the Best European Film Award in the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. It is a feature film written and directed by Elena Martín Gimeno and Clara Roquet.
Official Selection and Tribute to Terenci Moix
24 feature films make up the Official Selection, 11 of which belong to the national Official Selection.
