The death of Inca businessman Pedro Pascual, founder of Hotels Viva, at the age of 75, has shocked the tourism sector on the islands

The Mallorcan hotelier Pedro Pascual (Inca, 1947) passed away this Sunday. The president and founder of Hotels Viva had seen his health condition worsen in recent days.

His death comes in the year in which the company celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The hotelier, a reference in the tourism sector on the islands, was a municipal quantity surveyor for the Inca City Council and studied architecture in Barcelona.

The Mallorcan hotelier started the company Hotels Viva together with his partners Tomeu Plomer and Miquel Ramis. Later, Ramis went his own way at Garden Hotels and in 2017, Pascual and Plomer also parted ways in their businesses in Mallorca. For his part, Pascual continued with the Viva brand, with seven hotels on the island, and Plomer, with Zafiro. Hotels Viva also expanded to the Mayan Riviera.

Pascual also launched the Fundació Es Convent, focused on charitable, social and sporting activities and causes.
