The councilor of Economy and Commerce has held a meeting with the associations of traders, artisans and fairgrounds participating in the initiative in which she has told them that the Christmas Market will change its location this year to the Parc de Ses Estacions
The Christmas Market stalls that were traditionally located in Plaça d’Espanya and Porta Pintada will move this year to Parc de ses Estacions due to the renovation and rehabilitation works that are being carried out in the space. This has been communicated by the councilor of Economy and Commerce, Lupe Ferrer, and the general director of Fairs and Markets, Maria del Carmen Esparza, to representatives of employers and associations of traders, artisans and fairgrounds participating in the initiative during a meeting held at the City Council of Palma.
The Christmas market, which will keep its locations in La Rambla and Plaça Major, will be held between November 23 and January 7, with opening hours from 10.00 to 21.00 hours. This has been communicated by the City Council of Palma in a press release.

In principle, it is planned that in the outside of Ses Estacions the children’s attractions will be maintained as in previous editions. At the meeting it has been raised the possibility of diversifying the different spaces so that in each of them there is a variety of offers and that this is attractive to the citizen. The final location of each stall will not be known until the number of applicants confirming their participation is known.
The move also affects the food and sweets stalls which, like the rest, will be relocated and it is intended to give prominence to local food products through specific stops. It is also planned to offer more exhibition and sales space to those artisans who are willing to make live demonstrations of their activity.
The City Council guarantees the security of the premises at all times since, in addition to the presence of the Local Police, there will be reinforced private security.
At the meeting the councilor stressed the intention of the Consistory to recover the traditional spirit of the Christmas Market “to invite citizens to stroll and enjoy the holidays” and, for this, has pledged to work together with associations and other municipal departments involved.
