The Teatre de Barra reaches its XVIII edition in 2021, which takes place on Thursday afternoons from September 9 to October 14. The traditional cultural event in the Blanquerna neighborhood starts this year with the slogan “A personal room. Looking at women in the 21st century”. A cycle of five theatrical works that will reach the bars of Blanquerna with a focus on the role of women today.
This edition of the Teatre de Barra in 2021 will take place on Thursday 9, 16, 23 and 30 September, as well as on 7 and 14 October. Each day there will be four passes: at 8:15 p.m., 8:40 p.m., 9:15 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. The grand finale will take place at the Mar y Tierra theater on Saturday October 16 at 8:00 p.m. “The Teatre de Barra is now part of the cultural events of the city and we have not stopped even when things have been more complicated. We arrived at the eighteenth edition satisfied with the path traveled and with the desire to continue doing theater and bringing all kinds of themes to the public that follows us”, explains Javier Matesanz, producer of the Teatre de Barra.
For his part, Miguel Ángel Contreras, general coordinator of Culture of Palma City Council, says that “one of our objectives is to decentralize culture and make it accessible to all. Transform meeting spaces, such as bars, into cultural spaces in the framework of this magnificent initiative of the Teatre de Barra, it is a great way to achieve this challenge that we set ourselves”.
