TaPalma 2022, the Palma Tapas and Cocktails Competition and Route, will take place on 21st November. It will be held at Palma’s Palacio de Congresos, where more than 4,000 euros in prizes will be awarded. The awards will go to the Gold winners in each category (Tapa TaPalma Libre, Tapa TaPalma Temática and TaPalma Cocktail). There will also be runners-up prizes for the best tapa made with DO Oli de Mallorca, the best tapa paired with Mahou beer and the best cocktail made with KM1.

This year, TaPalma 2022 is sponsored by the Consejo Regulador de la Sobrasada de Mallorca. For this reason, the Mallorcan product becomes the main ingredient of the themed tapa.

TaPalma 2022 Tapas Route

While the most important tapas and cocktail competition in the Balearic Islands takes place on 21st November, the tapas and cocktail route will be held from 23rd to 27th November in different areas of Palma.

Registrations for bars and restaurants that want to take part in both the competition and the route are open through the registration form on the event’s website until 15 October.

TaPalma 2022: the jury

The tapas prizes and runners-up prizes will be awarded by a professional jury made up of nationally and internationally renowned chefs. The prize and runner-up prize for the best cocktail will be judged by a professional jury made up of experts in the sector and national and international bartenders.

Chef Igor Rodríguez will be the president of the TaPalma 2022 jury. The head chef of the El Bandarra restaurant in Palma, Rodríguez has also been selected once again for the final of the 18th National Pinchos and Tapas Competition in Valladolid. In fact, the winner of the TaPalma de Oro 2022 tapa will have the chance to take part in the Valladolid competition.

The president of the Consejo Regulador IGP Sobrasada de Mallorca, Andreu Palou, assured that “the gastronomic level of TaPalma 2022 will be, if possible, higher than last year’s, both in terms of the tapas proposals and the prestige of the participants”.
