This Saturday an unforgettable day was lived at the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença with the presentation of the London 2012 bronze medal to the local canoeist Sete Benavides, after ten years of long waiting.

The terrace of the club’s restaurant U Nàutic received with joy and pride the gala that the Club prepared to receive Sete Benavides with the long awaited Olympic medal.

Family, friends, members and authorities gathered to remember the sporting career of Sete Benavides always hand in hand with his coach Kiko Martin. It was a very emotional evening in which Mr. Mateo Dupuy, president of the RCNPP, recalled that “the reason for being of our club is the promotion of grassroots sport and that Sete Benavides is along with Eduardo Bellini and Pepote Ballester, the highest sports representation of the RCNPP.”

The gala was attended by regional, insular and local political authorities as well as members of the club’s board of directors, who are familiar with the sporting career of Sete Benavides since his beginnings.
