Images of terraces sprouting up in Lluc, the possession of Son Moragues, the village of sa Calobra and the silhouette of Valldemossa are the winning photos of the III Sierra de Tramuntana Photography Contest – Cultural routes. This contest, organized by the Sierra de Tramuntana World Heritage Consortium and in which the Association of Nature Photographers of the Balearic Islands (AFONIB) collaborates, has had to choose between the 452 photographs that have been submitted to the four categories of the contest:

  • The look of the coast. The water and the terraces.
  • The world of possessions. The stately gardens.
  • The portals of the Sierra. Towns and villages.
  • Characters of the Sierra. Artists and landscapes.

Winning pictures

In the category The look of the coast, the water and the terraces, the one that has gathered the most images, the photograph Chorros de los terraces de Lluc, by Jordi Xavier Aguiló Fiol, has won.

The image that has obtained the first prize in the second category, The world of possessions – The stately gardens, has been presented by Marco Marco Ripoll under the title Son Moragues.

In the third category, Los portales de la Sierra – Villages and villages, the photo Aldea de sa Calobra, by Sebastián Bota Ferragut, has managed to be first.

Finally, from the photos submitted to the fourth category, Characters from the Sierra. Artists and landscapes – Spirituality and religion, Joan Lluís Coll Rotger has been awarded with The Moon on Silhouettes.

Miquel Vadell, insular director of Territory and Landscape of the Consell de Mallorca, the photographers María José Aguiló and Toni Garau and the journalist and cultural guide Joan Carles Palos have made up this year’s jury.

The contest continues virtually through social networks. Followers of the Sierra de Tramuntana on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be able to select and click ‘Like’ their favorite image from among the winners. All the images will be part of the Sierra 2021 Calendar and the winner of the virtual contest will be the cover.
