The days of the heat wave that has been affecting Mallorca and the rest of Spain are numbered. According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), on the 16th of August temperatures will drop in the Balearic Islands, leaving behind the historic heatwave that has lashed much of the Mediterranean for weeks. The drop in temperatures is expected to be very moderate on 15, 16, 17 and 18 August. But it should be noted that these are only predictions that will have to be fulfilled and, although there will be a slight drop in temperatures, we will continue to exceed 33 °C in much of the archipelago.

This heat wave in Mallorca will be with us for the rest of the week, and the AEMET has issued warnings of high temperature risk in the interior of Mallorca on Wednesday of 36ºC / 37ºC, as well as in areas in the north of the island, including the Serra de Tramuntana. Although Mallorca is not one of the regions of Spain most affected by the heatwave, there are warnings for high temperatures this weekend. Likewise, it is expected that the lower temperatures next week may be accompanied by occasional rainfall.
