Christmas in Palma 2022 programmes around seventy leisure, cultural and family activities for the citizens. Over the next few weeks, Christmas activities will full Palma until after Epiphany and will continue until February 2023. A Christmas programme that is divided into different thematic areas: sports, activities programme, nativity scenes, Fiesta del Estandarte, culture and markets.
Three of the most outstanding activities are the Fiesta del Estandarte, the arrival of the royal pages on the 3rd of January in the Plaza de Cort and the Three Kings parade. Some of the events that had to be cancelled or modified last year due to health restrictions will be brought back.
Many of the proposals are of a family nature, with activities in the libraries of the municipal network. There will be storytelling, literary workshops, talks, Christmas crafts, ‘bibliojocs’, etc.
Sports will also play a leading role. The aquatic festivities in the municipal sports centres of Son Moix and Germans Escales, the traditional children’s race for the Three Kings on the morning of 5th January and the FNG San Silvestre, which will take place on 26th December, will be brought back.
The Christmas in Palma 2022 programme includes a section devoted to the city’s nativity scenes. It proposes a route around the different nativity scenes set up in municipal and private buildings in Palma, which are open to the public to visit. In total, 14 proposals, including the Nativity Scene of Cort, where you can also visit the Buzón Real (Royal Mailbox) until the 3rd of January.
The Christmas and Epiphany fair once again fills the city with ‘paradetes’ with five locations: Plaza Mayor, Plaza de España, Plaza de la Puerta Pintada, La Rambla and Vía Roma until the 6th of January.
