With more than 60 proposals, the Palma City Council has launched the Nadal 2021 Program with activities that will run until January 22. The document, which can be consulted in digital format, is divided into eight thematic axes: libraries, sports, activities program, “Palma a whole amusement center”, nativity scenes, Festa de l’Estendard, culture and markets.
The program includes, as main axes, different events around the Festa de l’Estendard (they begin on December 29), the arrival of the patges reials to Cort on January 2 and the Cavalcada dels Reis Mags in the Moll Vell, the afternoon of day 5.
Therefore, it recovers some events that last year, due to health restrictions caused by the covid-19 pandemic, had to be suspended or modified. Most of the initiatives are familiar. There will be storytelling, literary workshops, talks, Christmas crafts, contests and other activities.
The program also has a section for the nativity scenes of the city. It proposes a route through the different nativity scenes in municipal and private buildings that are open to the public to visit. We find more than a dozen proposals, among which is the crib of Cort, where you can also visit the Royal Mailbox until next January 4.
The Christmas and Kings Fair once again fills the city with stalls in plaça Major, plaça d’Espanya, plaça de la Porta Pintada and, as a novelty, via Roma and plaça del Mercat.
