The Mallorcan hotel chains Meliá Hotels International, Barceló Hotels & Resorts and Riu are the leading brands that generate the most confidence in the Spanish hotel sector, according to data from the study “Trusted Brands of the Year 2021 in Spain. Top of Trust. Spanish Brands Edition ”, prepared by iTRUST Country Brand Intelligence in alliance with MESIAS – Spain Brand Intelligence.

According to the research, which has more than 1,700 opinions from consumers and users, Meliá also ranks as the Spanish brand that generates the greatest trust in Spain in the Hotel Industry, occupying position 19 in the national ranking.

Among the 100 brands that generate the greatest trust in Spain are also other prominent brands in this sector, such as Barceló, which occupies the second position in its sector, and is ranked 41st in the national ranking; and Riu, third in the sector classification and 79 at the national level.

Paradores and NH Hoteles complete the top five in the Spanish hotel industry in brand confidence, ranking 89th and 94th, respectively, at the national level.

The study, which has had the collaboration of researchers from ICADE – Comillas Pontifical University and CEU San Pablo University, is led by Mercadona, Zara and El Corte Inglés.

The report includes the one hundred brands that have received recognition from consumers and users as ‘Trusted Brands of the Year 2021’ in Spain, and is part of a set of studies and rankings that analyze the trust generated by Spanish companies and their brands , as well as the image they project and their level of reputation, both nationally and internationally.
