interactive maps son espasesThe Son Espases University Hospital has developed an interactive map system with the aim of facilitating the orientation of patients and visitors within its facilities. This new tool, accessible through the hospital’s mobile app and via QR codes located at strategic points, aims to optimise mobility within the premises.

With more than 800 beds and an area of 172,000 square metres, Son Espases is a large healthcare complex that receives thousands of people daily. The difficulty of getting around its facilities has been identified as one of the main complaints from visitors, which is why this initiative aims to improve their experience and autonomy.

According to Joan Marquès, Head of the Hospital’s IT Department, “using technology to improve accessibility within the hospital was a priority. This interactive map is part of a broader strategy for digital modernisation to enhance the experience of all our users.”

The map system, developed with Situm technology, offers step-by-step guided navigation both indoors and outdoors, smart search for departments and consultations, and features such as “Find my car,” which helps locate vehicles in the parking lot. Additionally, it allows integration into digital platforms such as websites and interactive kiosks.
