The Consell de Govern approves the appointment of Manuel Palomino Chacón as the new director general of the Health Service. Palomino has been director of Management and Budgets since 2015 and has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare management, having been deputy director of Logistics at Son Dureta Hospital and director of Management at Son Espases University Hospital.
Following the formal resignation of Juli Fuster, Palomino now replaces the former director general of the Health Service. Juli Fuster has led the Health Service for the last three years at a time of health complexity marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fuster has been committed to improving the rights of healthcare staff as one of his main lines of action. The former director general has also promoted strategic plans such as the commitment to the infrastructures of the new Son Dureta, the old Hospital de Can Mises and the demolition of the wall of the Mental Health Hospital.
Now it is the turn of the new director general of the Health Service, Manuel Palomino Chacón, to lead the public health project in the Balearic Islands.
