The XIX edition of the Fira del Vi de Pollença will be held in 2022 on May 7 and 8 at the Can Conill venue with the participation of 36 wineries, two more than the last fair. The objective, according to the organizers, is to taste and discover the wines that are presented, since a small tasting is enough to capture the essence of a wine. In addition to being a meeting point for producers, distributors and restaurateurs.
Josep Bibiloni, president of the Vino Primitivo Association, explained that at the Fira del Vi there will be between 275 and 300 references to try. “This fair is very useful for the sector, since we have had a very bad time during these two years that we have been unemployed. The vineyards rowed and we had wine that had no outlet, since with the restoration almost stopped, very little wine was consumed. Little by little we have been recovering and now we have the 2021 production with good expectations that things will work ”, he declared.
For his part, Tomeu Cifre, Mayor of Pollença, said that “the public will be able to taste the new references of the winegrowers. We continue in the line of supporting the Fira del Vi with a great effort from the City Council and also from the Vino Primitivo Association , a support to promote Pollença in the broadest sense, from the primary sector to the wine consumer and the restaurant sector”.
