44th Diada Ciclista de Sant Sebastià 2025 in Palma Set for 20 January
The 44th edition of the Diada Ciclista de Sant Sebastià 2025 will take place on Monday, 20 January. The event, with a start time of 12:00 noon from Plaça de Santa Eulària, will feature an increase in registration capacity to 6,000 participants, aiming to encourage involvement from people of all ages and physical conditions. Since its first edition in 1977, the Diada has been a cherished tradition, bringing together thousands of cyclists during the Sant Sebastià festivities. A large turnout is anticipated this year.
The event will be honoured by the presence of Joan Llaneras, a two-time Olympic champion and seven-time world champion in track cycling, who will act as its patron and launch the race. The six-kilometre route will take participants through some of Palma’s most iconic locations, including the Parc de la Mar, Avinguda Antoni Maura, La Rambla, Camí de Jesús, and Carrer Salvador Dalí, before finishing at the Palau d’Esports de Son Moix.
The Diada Ciclista de Sant Sebastià 2025, sponsored by CaixaBank and organised by the Institut Municipal de l’Esport (IME), is a popular event that not only promotes cycling but also encourages healthy lifestyles and strengthens community spirit. Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez Llabrés, highlighted the importance of the event, calling it a “major sports festival involving the entire city”. He expressed gratitude to CaixaBank and other collaborating companies, urging citizens to participate and enjoy a day that embodies Palma’s “health-conscious and community-oriented spirit”.
