The Consell de Govern has approved the proposal of the Conselleria de Modelo Económico, Turismo y Trabajo, the designation of Isabel Vidal as the new Director General of Tourism, replacing Rosana Morillo.
A graduate in Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), she has spent most of her professional career in the tourism sector. Isabel Vidal (Palma, 1986) also holds a master’s degree in Hotel Management and Administration, also awarded by the UCM, and from 2019 until now she has been the president of the Playa de Palma Hotel Association (AHPP).
Thanks to her experience at the head of the AHPP, one of the main tourist areas of the islands, in which more than 100 tourist establishments in the area are represented, encompassing more than 30,000 tourist places, she has been in constant and permanent direct contact with the main tourist companies.
Throughout her professional career, Vidal has also been secretary of the Board of Directors of Sa Nostra on behalf of the group of shareholders and has combined her responsibilities in the AHPP with the general management of the Houm Hotels chain.
At the same time, the Consell de Govern has also approved the dismissal of the former Director General of Tourism, Rosana Morillo, who will be appointed Secretary of State for Tourism by the Spanish government in the next few days.
