IB3 concludes today the process of integrating over 300 workers among informative staff, technicians, and exploitation, and converts them into permanent public administration staff, after 18 years of outsourcing
IB3 integrates today the workers from the informative area and the technical and exploitation staff of the Public Entity of Radio and Television of the Balearic Islands. There are more than 300 workers, among reporters, presenters, meteorologists, filmmakers, sound technicians, makeup and styling technicians, among others, who until now were part of five outsourcing contracts. Dalton Audiovisual, Videoreport CBM, VisualMed and the UTE formed by Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) and Videoreport were the companies through which the staff had been subrogated since the creation of the regional media chain in 2005.
The legal formula for integration is the subrogation of companies, which means that they will be permanent staff under a Supreme Court ruling last year that established this.
The announcement of the integration was made by the Balearic Government just over a year ago after commissioning a report from a consultant and establishing a roadmap to guide the entire process.
The integration of IB3’s news staff is a historical demand of the workers and solves the different demands for illegal transfer of news, the latest from 2020, which questioned the legality of outsourcing the service. In the latter case, the Higher Court of Justice ordered the repetition of the trial held in the first instance in 2021, for not taking into consideration all the evidence submitted by the claimants. With the step taken today, the case should be archived.
