The Mallorcan hotel world will debate on November 11 on the preservation of the environment, energy saving, social responsibility and the recycling of raw materials at the Palacio Museo de Gordiola.
Iberostar, Nixe Palace, Garden Hotels and Es Racó d’Artá will star in the meeting that will be led by Zdenka Lara, co-founder of Eco-One, the Spanish startup organizing the initiative.
The event, called “Another hotel concept”, will be chaired by the Minister of Tourism, Andreu Serra, and the island director of Tourism, Lucía Escribano.
Sandra Benbeniste, head of sustainability for Iberostar in Europe and North Africa, will emphasize the “Wave of Change” movement, which the chain carries out with various practices such as the elimination of single-use plastics and the preservation of coastal health .
Garden Hotels, which organizes beach cleaning days to promote awareness and respect for natural environments, will be represented by the general controller Jaume Ordinas.
Nixe Palace, for its part, has reduced 80% of water consumption thanks to the installation of filters in its establishments. The CEO, Francisco Serrano, will speak about this experience and other measures.
On behalf of the Es Racó d’Artà hotel, one of the main rural hotels on the island, built with natural materials such as stone and hemp, director Felip Boyero will debate.
