The Government approves more measures to alleviate inflation and protect the most vulnerable groups. After the Council of Ministers, Pedro Sánchez appeared this afternoon at the Moncloa Palace, in a press conference where he presented new measures to help the groups that are suffering most from the energy crisis and the inflation resulting from the war in Ukraine.
This is the third aid package announced by the government. The government has reduced VAT from 4 to 0% on staple foods (such as bread and milk, and from 10% to 5% on oil and pasta), agreed to a 200 euro subsidy for families with incomes of up to 27,000 euros, extended the tax cuts on electricity and gas for six months, and maintained the 20 cents per litre subsidy on fuel for hauliers.
These measures will come into force as of 1 January 2023.
