The 43rd edition of the Fira del Llibre in Palma (Palma Book Fair) will take place from 30 May to 8 June in a new location: the Plaça d’Espanya. This initiative, organised by the Gremi de Llibreters de Mallorca (Booksellers’ Guild of Mallorca) with the support of the Consell de Mallorca and in collaboration with the Ajuntament de Palma, serves as a pilot test to enhance the visibility and reach of the event. A total of 18 bookshops from Palma will take part in this edition of the Fira del Llibre 2025, offering a wide range of titles for all audiences.

Following the completion of renovation works in this iconic city space, the organisers have chosen the Plaça d’Espanya as the new venue for the fair, aiming to attract a broader audience and allow for sustainable growth in future editions. According to the Gremi de Llibreters, the main goal is to bring books closer to citizens in a central and busy area. “Our aim is for books to meet people, which is why we decided to move the Fira to one of the most central and bustling locations in Palma such as the Plaça d’Espanya,” they state.
The opening ceremony of the Fira del Llibre 2025 in Palma will take place on the afternoon of Friday 30 May at the main stage, located next to the statue of King Jaume I. Over the course of the ten-day event, this stage will host a variety of cultural activities, including book presentations, storytelling sessions, talks and concerts. The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
