“The Fira del Ram is the most important event in Mallorca in terms of attractions, since the Balearic Islands do not have an amusement park. We are a sector that has had a very bad time and we hope that people come to the Fira del Ram with all their safety guarantees and that we can enjoy with family and children. After everything we’ve been through, we deserve it”, says Javier Barranco, president of the Union of Entrepreneurs of Diverse Attractions of the Balearic Islands.

The third Fira in Spain

The Fira del Ram employs some 80 families, of which 70% come from abroad and 30% are residents of the Balearic Islands. In addition, it contemplates a protocol in which the distance, the mask and the hydroalcoholic gel are measures to follow “that we have taken in a tripartite meeting with the Federation of Commerce, Health and the Balearic Institute of Occupational Health so that people enjoy this fair ”, adds the General Director of Commerce, Miquel Piñol.

For his part, the president of Pimem, Jordi Mora, has communicated that “the employers will give 10 2×1 tickets to all entrepreneurs, as well as freelancers as a sign of recognition for the hard difficulties they have gone through throughout of these two years of pandemic.

«The sector is really very affected and more so considering what it costs to start activities like ours. Electricity supply has become 300 percent more expensive. For us it is to resume activity again, as it represents, in addition to economic relief, a very important joy given that we have been unemployed for two years,” adds Barranco.
