The Fang de Marratxí 2022 fair is held from March 5 to 12 in the “La Verónica” municipal space after being suspended due to the coronavirus. The program for the 2022 edition includes the participation of a hundred local artisans who are exclusively dedicated to pottery and ceramics. The Marratxí Town Hall will install the exhibitors and the assignment of the exterior stands for the sale of products will be made at the discretion of the organizing committee.

The XXVII edition of the traditional Mallorcan fair will focus on “world cuisine with ceramics”. It will be held from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Convened by the Marratxí Town Hall, it means a great boost for the pottery sector, which has more than 300 years of tradition. Pòrtol and Sa Cabaneta are the towns most deeply rooted in pottery work. Its typical workshops can be visited all year round.

Fira del Fang: an exhibition of unique objects

The Fira del Fang 2022 edition allows tourists to enter a curious world and locals to relive the local and ancestral tradition that demonstrates the link between cuisine and ceramics.

A typical container is the “greixonera”, a clay pot varnished inside of various sizes and heights, ideal for tasting the traditional Majorcan soup.

In the Fira del Fang the “Siurells” also stand out. It is a clay whistle in the shape of a demon or a manufactured animal. It is painted green and red with a white lime bath.

The fair also includes a space for conferences, exhibitions and musical performances.
