The event pays tribute this year to Francesc Vicent Garcia Ferrandis, a classic of Baroque poetry, and Jaume Vidal Alcover, who was born 100 years ago in Manacor. The Festival de Poesia de la Mediterrània 2023 offers an international poetry recital
The Consell de Mallorca has presented the Festival de Poesia de la Mediterrània, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this Tuesday, October 24, at the Teatre Principal de Palma with a poetry recital with the participation of nine international authors.
The vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councilor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, explained that the objective of this edition is the social projection of the literary creation of the poets of the Balearic Islands and of diverse languages and cultures, such as Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician, Portuguese and French. That is why the Festival de Poesia de la Mediterrània becomes one of the most visible literary showcases of the cultural program of the islands.
The Festival de Poesia de la Mediterrània 2023 celebrates World Poetry Day
The festival is scheduled in March to celebrate World Poetry Day 2023, and now, at the end of October and November, with the arrival of the participating poets and the organization of other activities, such as poetry conversations and dance and singing performances.
