From the Magazin Mallorca Caprice we want to give our most sincere congratulations to the Palladium group for their 50th anniversary.

Palladium Hotel Group has chosen the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) to open the commemorative events of this event, to take stock of the year and to communicate the news of the company. Among the most important, the announcement of new president and CEO.

After 50 years in the tourism sector, Matutes Business Group has reformed its organizational structure to adapt to the new times in which the company is committed to separating the management of real estate assets from the hotel operator.

Thus, with the firm intention of focusing and continuing to grow as a hotel operator and developing its own brands, Abel Matutes Prats will be the new president and Jesús Sobrino the new CEO of Palladium Hotel Group, manager and owner of the hotel brands. Sobrino was until now the deputy general manager who is now in the hands of Carmen Matutes Prats. On his part, Abel Matutes Juan, founder and president of the company since its inception, will maintain the presidency of the holding company Grupo Empresas Matutes to which the Palladium Hotel Group belongs.

During the event to present the company’s new developments, the President of the Empresas Matutes Group, Abel Matutes Juan; the President of the Palladium Hotel Group, Abel Matutes Prats; and the CEO of the hotel company, Jesús Sobrino, also gave a very positive assessment of 2019. In this year, the Palladium Hotel Group has managed a turnover of more than 752 million euros, which represents a growth of 13% over the previous year.

Growing in the Mediterranean

This 2020 Palladium Hotel Group will continue to consolidate its expansion strategy with important openings. The first will be the Palladium Hotel Menorca, a four-star all-inclusive hotel that is presented as one of the group’s most ambitious projects in the national market and in which the company will invest 26 million euros for its renovation.

It will also strengthen its presence in the Mediterranean. Specifically in the north of the Italian island of Sicily, Palladium Hotel Group will open Grand Palladium Garden Beach Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa with Azora as a strategic partner. This is a 10-hectare resort made up of two hotels with 469 rooms, in which more than 31 million euros will be allocated for the comprehensive refurbishment of its facilities.

With these new openings, scheduled for the summer, the Palladium Hotel Group takes another step towards continuing to position itself as a benchmark for luxury accommodation in the Mediterranean, as well as reinforcing its commitment to improving its products and services with the expansion of two of its most important brands: Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts and Palladium Hotels.

At the end of the year, the group plans to bring the urban brand Only YOU Hotels, which until now has only been present in Madrid, to Malaga and Valencia. It also aims to export its TRS Hotels brand, which will land in Ibiza in 2021 for the first time after its success in the Caribbean.
