European Mobility Week is coming to Palma from Thursday 15 September to Saturday 1 October. Palma will be filled with activities such as Park(ing)Day, the Mobility Day, workshops and exhibitions. This 2022, the theme of the event is “Better connections” (Mix and move: better connections). European Mobility Week is one of the main awareness-raising campaigns on sustainable urban mobility. It aims to encourage a change of habits in favour of active mobility, public transport and other clean transport solutions. This year, under the slogan better connections, actions will take place in 463 cities in 22 countries.
The Mobility Week programme in Palma will feature around thirty different activities.

Friday, 16th September
This year the Park(ing)Day activity has been consolidated. For one day parking spaces will be transformed into public and recreational spaces. 23 organisations will be taking part.
Saturday, 17th September
Mobility Day with a bus museum and visits to the train. This year the Diada de la Movilidad (Mobility Day) resumes this year, which will take place in the area between Carrer Riera and Plaça Joan Carles I. It will also feature novelties such as the EMT Palma bus museum and the TIB electric bus. The day will be enlivened with children’s activities such as Lila and the recycled games, a road safety education circuit by the Palma Local Police, Barridiades by the IME and the Circ Bover.
The TIB is also organising a visit to the railway network control centre at the intermodal station, which will take place between 11:00 and 13:00 in small groups.
Tuesday, 20th September
Awards ceremony for the most loyal users of the TIB, EMT Palma and Bicipalma in a joint event between the City Council and the TIB. It will take place in the Plaza del Casal in the Can Alonso neighbourhood at 18:00, accompanied by the Municipal Music Band.
Thursday 22nd: Car-free day
The train and metro will be free for all citizens. Even people who do not have an Intermodal Card will also be able to travel for free on this day. Throughout the week the TIB will be holding an online competition to win credit on the intermodal card.
Saturday 24 September
One of the new features of the Mobility Week programme in Palma is the guided tour of the EMT facilities with prior registration. EMT Palma will also be holding an exhibition on 29 and 30 September in the Plaza de España (c. Marqués de Fontsanta with avenidas).
More activities in Palma Mobility Week
The programme of activities includes those already consolidated, such as the Rodabarris gymkhana, on 1 October at 10:30 am; the Fuente de Misterios route, which will take place on 22 September from Plaza Mayor; there will also be another healthy route on Monday 19 September at 10:00 am, and there will be bike workshops and workshops on autonomy and accessibility to the bus organised by EMT and ASPAYM.
