Electric car charging points in Mallorca operate under the MELIB network. Dependent on the Balearic Institute of Energy, in 2022 it has been improved to give this type of vehicle a boost. The public network of electric car charging points in the Balearic Islands now has a maintenance service, a new management of the mobile application and the incorporation of a 24-hour telephone service, 365 days a year.

Through the app of the MELIB network, dependent on the Balearic Institute of Energy, the charging points of Mallorca and the rest of the islands can be managed. With it you can know the availability and, in addition, its use is limited to MELIB users.

Recharging electric cars in Mallorca: telephone service

One of the novelties of the electric car recharging points in Mallorca is the provision of a helpline. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. At each recharging station, a sticker with this telephone number has been placed, which, in summer, also provides service in German. Regarding the new mobile application, the existing one has been updated. Users must register in the app, even those who had already done so in the previous application. The General Director of Energy and Climate Change, Pep Malagrava, assures that “deploying electric mobility is necessary to decarbonise the islands”. And the fact is that the Balearic Islands currently have 927 public access points (adding public and private public access points). Of these, there are 702 that belong to the MELIB network. By islands, it should be noted that Mallorca has 536 charging points, while Menorca has 72, Ibiza 70 and Formentera 24.
