The Consell de Govern has authorized an aid item of 2,200,000 million euros to promote the modernization of commercial and service companies with special attention to those affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The grants included in this call are included in the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands for the years 2021-2023, approved by the Agreement of the Consell de Govern of December 20, 2021.

The aforementioned Plan includes, among other actions, the call for aid to promote the commercial fabric, competitive improvement plans, marketing and design plans, as well as actions to improve competitiveness and/or promote the commercial fabric.

With this aid, the Government wants to promote the modernization of local commercial establishments and certain services, before helping them to be able to continue with the commercial activity that they carry out and their adaptation to criteria of competitiveness, in the territorial area of ​​the Balearic Islands, to alleviate the serious economic consequences that the health crisis caused by COVID 19 has caused to the small business sector.

Likewise, it wants to promote the continuity of commercial establishments and certain services considered emblematic, since they constitute a heritage and cultural legacy that must be preserved.

The novelty of this year in terms of aid is that the epigraphs of hairdressing, photography establishments and florists are included, and establishments that are or have been in the last 6 months in a training, innovation or consultancy program will have a higher score. , with a public entity, union, employer or chamber of commerce.
