The Jazz Palma festival reaches the final stretch with a weekend full of performances and activities. Marco Mezquida, Andreu Galmès and Gonzalo del Val will close the program for this edition, on stages such as the Xesc Forteza municipal theater and the Krekovic park.

On Saturday it will be the turn of the Jazz and crime novel activity, organized jointly with the Febrer Negre festival (Pasaje Juan XXIII de Els Geranis, 12:00). There will be a talk by the writer Joaquín Llorens, who will review how murders, police plots and mysteries have developed over a century to the rhythm of jazz.

At 8:00 pm it will be the turn of the Menorcan pianist Marco Mezquida, who will offer a solo piano concert at the Xesc Forteza theater, an aesthetic journey that will combine avant-garde jazz, contemporary music, folk sounds and pop melodies.

As for Sunday, Andreu Galmès will offer the last session of Vermuts Jazz with songs from his albums Diciembre and Stress, as well as some standards from the world of jazz. Palo di Salvo (double bass) and Miguel Navarrete (drums) will accompany him in the Krekovic Park starting at 12:00.

The last concert of Jazz Palma will be that of Gonzalo del Val Trio, at the Xesc Forteza theater starting at 7:00 p.m. Del Val is one of the most outstanding drummers on the current jazz scene and will present Cancionero, his new album, awarded as best jazz album at the 2021 Enderrock Awards.
