Eivissa in winter, bycicle and river plans

Eivissa reinvents itself to promote active tourism during low season. Visiting the island in winter offers a different experience, far from the crowds of summer months. It is the perfect time to get to know it better, to discover new places and to connect with its more natural side without anyone distracting.

EIVISSA ON WHEELS: Bicycles are also for winter

Cycle tourism has more and more followers on the islands and that is why in Eivissa they have prepared twenty bicycle routes to enjoy at any time of the year. Either by the coast or inland, discovering Eivissa by bike is possible for users of all levels, who can practice sports while contemplating the spectacular views of the sea, get to know the most significant towns on the island or
entering in its greener part on two wheels.

One of the initiation routes that offers incredible views is the Port des Torrent, which begins in Sant Antoni, next to the beach of the same name. The bike itinerary crosses a beautiful area of pine forests until it reaches the path that runs along the coast until des Comtes beach. Up on the bike, you can see an impressive landscape: cliffs, islets, crystalline coves and defense towers.

SANTA EULÀRIA DES RIU: A route through the only river in the Balearic Islands

Santa Eulària, the second largest municipality in Eivissa, accompanies its name with the only river in the Balearic Islands, whose waters were used for irrigation until the 20th century. Hence, the town highlights its natural and cultural heritage through the Santa Eulària river route, which runs across the town and part of the riverbed.

The circular itinerary begins at the Town Hall, continues in the Sala Barrau, which houses the work of the painter Laureà Barrau i Buñol, and heads towards the coast until it finds Broll i Pou de Baix, which recalls how the waters were channeled to provide irrigation water. From here, you walk until you take the riverbed, which borders until the Pont Vell, one of the most photographed spots. The route passes through interesting places such as Puig de Missa, the Museum of Ethnography or the Interpretation Center of the Can Planetes River and its old flour mill.
