The Public Health Commission has agreed to lift, as of March 5, the obligation to quarantine all close contacts of positive cases of coronavirus, which until now had to be kept by unvaccinated people, which will be noticed mainly in schools.

In any case, according to EFE, the Commission has recommended that during the 10 days after the last exposure, close contacts of confirmed cases “extreme precautions and reduce social interactions as much as possible by constantly using the mask and maintaining adequate hygiene. of hands”.

With more than 90% of the Spanish population vaccinated, it is believed that this measure benefits children between the ages of 5 and 11, more than 3 million throughout the country, a segment with low vaccination rates.

The use of the mask inside will continue to be mandatory since there is no unanimity to withdraw it, although President Pedro Sánchez has announced that the measure is under study and would be effective in a few days.
