Palma City Council will install a giant screen in the Son Moix sports hall this Sunday 20th so that all the fans who wish to watch the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup between the national teams of Spain and England can do so. The Spanish team includes Mallorcan players Mariona Caldentey and Cata Coll.

In organising this event, the city council has enjoyed the collaboration of the Miquel Jaume Foundation and the Asociación Deporte para la Igualdad (Sports for Equality Association), which has prepared fun workshops and face painting to enliven and encourage the fans who come to watch the final. This social entity, through its Football for Equality initiative, will organise various activities around the broadcasting of the final, including “Fabric Football”, an initiative that promotes gender equality and opportunities. For its part, Mercapalma, has joined this sporting event by providing a total of 1,500 bananas that will be distributed among the attendees.

The general director of Sports of Palma City Council, David Salom, has advanced that “given the importance of this final, the city council, through the Institut Municipal de l’Esports (IME), will install a giant screen so that all the fans can watch this final. This giant screen will be located in the centre of the pavilion’s court. Fans will be able to follow the match on the giant screen and on the two video scoreboards that will also broadcast the match”.

Admission will be free and several clubs and supporters clubs from different sports entities have already confirmed their presence. The Balearic Football Federation itself has announced that it will send an email to its members informing them that they can follow the match from the Son Moix sports hall.

The IME has warned that seating is limited and urges all fans who wish to watch this women’s football final to arrive at the pavilion in good time.
