Cinema a la Fresca (Open air Cinema) returns this summer with an extensive programme of films. On the 9th of August, a month full of films suitable for all audiences that invite viewers to reflect. The screenings of this year’s Cinema a la Fresca 2022 in Palma will be held in Ses Voltes, the ideal place to enjoy the films next to Palma’s city walls and La Seu. The inauguration of this year’s summer cinema will bring to the screen “The Father” by director Florian Zeller.

This open-air summer cinema event will last until the 31st of August, and a very interesting selection of films can be enjoyed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays this month. According to the Director General of Culture, Tina Codina, “These are films that help to reflect on issues that affect our society”, which is why this summer we are committed to a cinema of awareness, reflection and critical thinking that is especially aimed at a young audience. This summer’s Cinema a la Fresca has a component of thought and values, according to the director general.

This initiative by Palma City Council is a classic summer seasonal event for the people of Palma. It should be noted that other events related to the seventh art have also been held in the city this year, such as the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest and the next edition of Mecal Air.
